Google open sourced their Machine Learning framework TensorFlow

TensorFlow is an open source software library for Machine Intelligence. Google just open sourced this framework recently. They use this tech in their search, image tagging, and many other products. In the video below they explained that they wanted to open it up to the developer community to help drive innovation faster.

This framework is not simple. I'm interested in learning it for myself and will share some of the skills you would need to be able to keep up and be productive in this realm of Computer Science.

  • Python Experience
  • Multivariate Calculus
  • Linear Algebra
  • Probability theory and statistical inference
  • Basic course in Algorithms
  • Basic machine learning course

As you can see this list is a bit daunting if you do not posses any of the mathematic parts. However, this level of math is consistent with most engineering or computer science bachelor degrees, so there will be a lot of online learning resources to follow.

I'm excited to see how this will change our possibilities for software and hardware. We are starting to hit a wall with the kinds of applications we can make unless we utilize advanced tech.
